The ECNT's Monthly Giving Program is a great opportunity for people to contribute to the valuable work of the Environment Centre and support the NT environment.

Whereas funds raised from other sources such as philanthropic and government grants come with restrictions, income from our Monthly Giving Program can be invested freely wherever the need is greatest.

That means we can spend it on advocacy work as well as capacity building.

Your financial support will help give us the financial independence and strength to take on government and industry without fear of funding cuts.

You will also be making a significant contribution towards preserving special places like the Daly River, Glyde Point and the Tiwi Islands.

What is the Monthly Giving Program?

It's a supporter program where the general public and members of ECNT can make regular monthly donations via credit card or direct debit.

These donations go towards funding our campaigns and infrastructure. They are 100% tax deductible so you can claim them back on your end of financial year tax return.

We have set up our Monthly Giving Program through EarthShare's eGive facility. This enables us to offer an online facility via eGive's secure forms as well as simplifying the administrative process for us.

The benefits for you are:

»	the peace of mind that you're helping us throughout the year and that once it's set up you don't have to think about it;
»	you can donate a larger amount overall without the worry of affording a lump sum payment;
»	it's up to you how much you donate over and above the $15 per month minimum (equivalent of two cups of coffee a week). How much is the environment worth to you?
»	since the program is 100% tax deductible, you can claim the entire amount back via your tax return. You are indirectly diverting more Commonwealth funds into protecting your local environment.
»	it's financial recycling, making your money work for you and the environment. Consider it a loan that demonstrates to the government your financial commitment to the environment.

The benefits for ECNT are:

»	with a steady calculable income we can plan further ahead and work more strategically;
»	greater income through untied funding such as donations means we can invest in areas most needed at a particular time, including campaigns and infrastructure;
»	your increased support gives us a more powerful voice when campaigning on issues of concern in your local environment.

There are a number of ways you can join our monthly giving program. If you prefer to join up online please follow the steps below:

1.	Decide how much you would like to donate each month. There is a minimum monthly amount of $15 per month; however, there is no upward limit. You can choose how much you would like to donate over and above $15.
2.	Choose to donate each month either by credit card or direct debit. You can set up a regular transfer from your credit card or from your bank account. Bank account transfers attract lower bank fees so more of your money goes towards ECNT.
3.	Select how to set up your monthly transactions.

You can join up now online via ECNT's e-Give donation page.

You will be asked to:

»	Create an account with username and password;
»	Complete your contact details;
»	Enter an amount to donate. You must select an amount of $15 or more;
»	Enter your donation frequency”. Please select monthly.
»	Read the Terms and Conditions. Please enter your full name to authorise EarthShare Australia to set up your monthly transactions.
»	Click "yes" on the Privacy Consent option to receive correspondence from ECNT.

Receipts

You will receive an automated email receipt once you have completed the steps above.

We will also mail an end of financial year receipt to you in early July detailing how much you have donated over the financial year. You can use this receipt to claim your donations back via your tax return.

Other ways to sign up

If you prefer not to set up your program online, you can:

Call or email Elly Langridge at ECNT and ask her to set the program up for you (please don't email your financial details to us as email is not secure); OR

Download a monthly giving program form, fill it out and post or fax it to ECNT.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel the Direct Debit arrangement at any time by giving written notice to us. Such notice should be received by us at least 10 business days prior to the due date. Your nominated Financial Institution is unable to cancel your Direct Debit Arrangement .

We hope you will continue to donate on an ongoing basis as early cancellations can be costly for ECNT.

We guarantee that we do not sell or pass on ANY of your details to any other person or company. All financial and personal information is kept in strict confidence. Under no circumstances will this information be used for purposes other than the transaction(s) above unless under prior agreement with the signatory.

Annual Membership

This program is different to our annual membership.

»	Your membership offers you voting rights at our AGM, receipt of our regular newsletter, the opportunity to join our management committee, access to our library as well as updates on campaign and social events. Membership statistics provide a quantitative measure of our public support.
»	The monthly giving program does not offer membership but does offer access to our library, newsletter and information about campaign and social events.

We fully encourage people to participate in both the membership and monthly giving programs as a way of enjoying the benefits of both as well as strengthening ECNT's voice in the political arena.
