NT Government's EPA proposal not acceptable!
The Environment Centre of the NT (ECNT) says the proposed Environment Protection Authority (EPA) as announced by the government on 22 June falls well short of what the government promised and is unacceptably weak.
“The government’s proposed EPA is merely an advisory body that can and most likely will be ignored."

NT Government falling behind on key election promises. Only 5 environmental promises implemented after a year and a half back in office! The Environment Centre of the Northern Territory (ECNT) says the Martin government must prioritise the environment much more highly in 2007 if it is to fulfill the promises it made in the lead up to the 2005 NT election. |

Another Federal Environment Minister bites the dust!! Howard government in real trouble if it doesn't start taking the environment seriously. The Environment Centre of the Northern Territory (ECNT) has welcomed the replacement of Senator Ian Campbell as Federal Environment Minister. The new Minister for Environment (and Water) will be Malcolm Turnbull. |
