Photo: Protestors spell out their message to the NT Government outside Parliament House on Tuesday 17th October 2006.

ACTION ALERT
(November 2006)

The Northern Territory Government has made an appalling decision to mine the McArthur River, ignoring environmental concerns and the wishes of traditional owners. This decision directly contradicts the commitment the Northern Territory Government made at the last election to protect our living rivers.

We can remind our elected representatives of their election commitments by sending a message to some of the relevant Labor Members of Parliament and to continue to lobby for the protection of the McArthur River.
