Securing the Long-term Protection of the Daly River
ECNT has released a bold new vision for the Daly River, outlining options for conservation and appropriate development in the catchment.

Protecting Living Rivers in NT
WWF-Australia and ECNT have developed a way forward to provide lasting protection for the Northern Territory's iconic river systems such as the Daly - home to amazing wetlands, waterbirds and fish - but which are under threat. WWF/ECNT are proposing a Living Rivers Act be developed to prohibit highly damaging types of development, such as new dams, and to ensure good community engagement and strong environmental assessment underpin future management.

Daly Aquatic Values Study

A new report by WWF-Australia, Charles Darwin University and the Environment Centre NT catalogues the important aquatic values of the Daly River Catchment. The report finds aspects of the freshwater ecosytem to be worthy of national listing, whilst the estuarine and wetland areas near the mouth of the Daly are internationally significant.

Water law and planning in the Northern Territory: an independent review by the Environmental Defender's Office NSW. ECNT commissioned Ilona Millar, Principal Solicitor at EDO NSW, to undertake a review of legal and policy frameworks for water management in the NT.
